NOT ALL VOLCANIC ASH IS CREATED EQUAL.

Oregon Si – Tephra Volcanic Ash

Gro IT Co Inc is proud to introduce Oregon SI as an eco-friendly and effective solution to address the pressing challenges faced by modern agriculture. By implementing this product, farmers can significantly contribute to carbon neutrality and sustainable farming practices. Oregon SI enhances health soil and effectively reduce carbon dioxide (CO2) levels in the air by establishing carbon sinks in the soil

Oregon SI is rich in silica, calcium, magnesium, iron, and manganese, can be used to build carbon sinks. Carbon sinks are natural or artificial reservoirs that remove CO2 from the atmosphere and store it for a long time, mitigating climate change.

One way Oregon has been used to enhance carbon sequestration is through a process called enhanced rock weathering. When Oregon SI is applied to vineyards, row crops like corn, rice, wheat fields, or other agricultural lands, it reacts with CO2 in the atmosphere and forms carbonates. These carbonates are then incorporated into the soil, effectively storing carbon. The high silica content in Oregon SI increases the weathering rate of the ash allowing for faster CO2 absorption and faster nutrient release.

By utilizing Oregon SI in agricultural settings, farmers can not only improve soil fertility but also contribute to CO2 removal from the atmosphere and the development of carbon sinks. It is important to note that the effectiveness of this process may vary depending on specific soil types, climate conditions, and agricultural practices

Silica (Si) content 69% helps in retaining water and nutrients in the soil, promoting better plant growth and crop yields

Calcium (Ca) content of 1.34% can improve soil structure and pH levels. It promotes root growth, nutrient uptake, and overall plant health.

Magnesium (Mg) content of 0.5% (essential for chlorophyll production in plants, aiding in photosynthesis and enhancing plant vigor)

Iron (Fe) content of 2.03% (vital for the formation of chlorophyll and plays a significant role in plant metabolism.

Manganese (Mn) content of 0.05% necessary for various enzymatic reactions in plants. It helps in the synthesis of chlorophyll and aids in photosynthesis.

CARBON SINK PROGRAM

The Oregon SI Method is the development of sustainable farming methods that is essential in combating climate change
and reducing greenhouse gas emissions. This proposed method to aims transform row crops into carbon sinks by incorporating Oregon SI into the soil.
